From this July, Air Europa passengers with lounge access will be able to enjoy the service at Madrid-Barajas airport at any time of the day. From this date, the Puerta de Alcalá lounge in Terminal 2 will be open twenty-four hours a day, thus extending the offer already available to airline users in Terminal 1, where the Cibeles lounge was open during these hours.

The measure, adopted by the body that manages Spanish airports, AENA, represents an important benefit for Air Europa customers flying in Business Class or who hold Suma Platinum or Gold cards, whose multiple advantages include access to VIP lounges. This new feature improves access to this type of service in cases where flights arrive at the airport in the early hours of the morning, as well as in situations where passengers need to be at the Barajas facilities very early in the morning.

Until now, the availability of a VIP lounge open all day was only possible in T1, where the company operates its transoceanic flights to and from Madrid. Now, with the extension of the opening hours of the Puerta de Alcalá lounge, this advantage is also available to customers on domestic flights or flights to destinations within the Schengen area. In this way, passengers from Latin America with connections in Spain or to Schengen countries, who land in the early hours of the morning, will be able to enjoy these exclusive services.

The use of VIP lounges is a benefit included in all Air Europa Business Class tickets, but also in the services of the Suma Platinum or Gold cards of the airline’s loyalty programme. Customers with these cards can access lounges on international flights or connecting flights to or from an international flight operated by Air Europa or any SkyTeam alliance company.

The lounges at Madrid-Barajas airport offer Air Europa customers a series of important advantages. In addition to having, since 2020, all the necessary measures to guarantee a safe stay against the coronavirus, including access to digital press or the presence of a “welcome agent” to provide personalised service to travellers, since the end of last year and progressively, they have recovered 100% of their available capacity, they once again have printed press and add to their gastronomic offer the proposals of chef Rodrigo de la Calle, distinguished with a Michelin star, among other improvements.
