Air Europa is in the process of continuously improving security matters to guarantee complete control over customer data protection. The airline is PCI-DSS compliant, the leading security standard for payment cards, ensuring that the processing of confidential information handled is executed with the highest level of protection and security.
This compliance is an information security model for organizations that process credit cards from the main market brands and is aimed at defining checks to protect the card holder’s data and confidential authentication data. For Air Europa, being PCI-DSS compliant is “the culmination of a multi-year project whose main objective was to ensure that all our customers can use their credit cards with the highest possible level of security”, says Bernardo Botella, Sales Manager of the Globalia air division.
This security model, which is awarded by the PCI SSC (Payment Card Industry Security Standards Council); and that Air Europa will regularly validate before qualified security assessors, aims to reduce and prevent fraud in this area.
For Air Europa, information security is key to its commitment to customers and it adds PCI-DSS compliancy to its own security programmes and achieves maximum efficiency in data protection.
In order to be PCI-DSS compliant, the airline successfully passed extensive processes, confirming that all the requirements have been met, and also carries out complete and continuous training in privacy and security.
