Air Europa reaches pre-pandemic occupancy levels on Sao Paulo rout

Vuelos a Sao Paulo

Air Europa has now reached pre-pandemic occupancy levels on its Sao Paulo route, which will start operating daily again from the 28th March.

The positive results for this route, which has registered an average occupancy rate of over 85%, have led the airline to increase its offer from five weekly flights to one daily flight. It will be operated by the modern and efficient Boeing 787-9 aircraft, which has a capacity of 339 passengers.

Air Europa’s newly increased schedule from and to Sao Paulo Guarulhos International Airport stays in line with the airline’s latest goal, which is to increase routes and frequencies based on the capacity discipline criteria by always adapting supply to the real market demand.

The schedule recovery and positive evolution of this route have been especially valued by the airline. Diego Garcia, Air Europa’s Sales Manager for the America region stated that “Brazil is a key market for Air Europa. It is very rewarding to see the market recovering and to be able to offer daily flights once again, always under the strictest, most efficient security measures, with our best fleet, the best customer service and the most unique passenger experience on board. We will continue to work towards an increase in the scope of our operations”. The airline aims to resume its flights to Salvador de Bahia, Fortaleza and Recife throughout the year in order to progressively restart operations to all its transatlantic destinations, based on sector recovery and market trends.

Air Europa’s flights to Sao Paulo are operated by the airline’s Boeing 787 Dreamliner fleet: these aircraft combine maximum comfort with an exceptional environmental performance by reducing emissions and fuel consumption by 20%. In addition, the Boeing 787 aircraft comes with a newly redesigned Business Class, which gives Air Europa a competitive edge in its sector.

The airline also recently improved its services by increasing its gastronomic offering on board: this new measure allows passengers flying long-haul in Economy Class and departing from Madrid to improve the service included in their reservation by pre-booking one of the three new off-menu meals in advance.

In addition, Air Europa has also revamped its digital health verification checks in order to streamline the check-in and boarding processes through Amadeus’s latest feature, known as Traveler ID. This new system lets passengers upload all the relevant Covid documentation during the online check-in process through the airline’s website, and saves them from having to show all documents again at the boarding gate.
