This year, we’re joining in the 19th anniversary celebrations for SkyTeam. And to mark this special occasion, we want to tell you some of the reasons why SkyTeam is the best alliance to travel with, whether for business or pleasure.
Members of the Alliance
SkyTeam was created in 2000 as an alliance between Aeromexico, Air France, Korean Air and Delta Airlines. Today, our global network of 19 airlines covers 90% of the world’s air traffic and more than half a million passengers a year reap the benefits of this alliance.
SkyTeam VIP lounges
It was 10 years ago that SkyTeam unveiled its first VIP lounge in Terminal 4 at London Heathrow Airport. Since then, a further five VIP lounges have been opened, with two more due to open over the course of 2019, in Istanbul and Santiago de Chile. When counted together with the spaces provided by our affiliates, this means our customers have access to more than 750 lounges.
Airport services: SkyPriority
SkyTeam offers its customers SkyPriority, a series of benefits available in more than 940 airports around the world. And with the SkyPriority Panel application, customers can leave comments to help improve the service.
Plan your round-the-world trip
Is a single destination just not enough? With the “Round the World” planner, you can arrange your travel details with up to 15 destinations on a single ticket.
Last-minute flight changes
If your flight is delayed or cancelled, being a member of SkyTeam lets you change your booking with any of the 19 affiliate airlines, and in 2019 it will be available in more than 100 airports.
You’ll never get lost in an airport again! SkyTeam.com and its app provide users with up-to-date maps of 39 of the busiest airports, together with other useful information. These are available in a number of languages and can be pre-downloaded for use offline.
The four million Elite members are able to benefit from the tracking technology that recognises them at every step of their journey, offering assistance and special advantages.
This 19-member alliance operates across the world to offer the services and benefits of the programme. The alliance welcomes passengers onto more than 14,500 flights a day, to over 1,150 destinations in 175 countries. Visit www.skyteam.com for more information or look for @skyteamalliance on Instagram.
